Anchor Wizard Pro Staffer - Dan Harkema

Dan Harkema Bio:
I am 43 years old and have lived in West Michigan all my life. I am an avid hunter and learned how danharkema.jpgto bow hunt for whitetails and gun for waterfowl on my own. I also grew up in a family that enjoyed fishing on many local lakes. Today, I enjoy riding quads with my own family.

Twenty years ago, my father and uncle took me to the "Big Man" (Big Manistee River) for some steelhead action. After 8 hours of fishing, 2 inches of rain, then 4 inches of snow, we get back at the launch and I was told, "Either you like steelheading now, or you don't!"

Well, that passion for steelheading is still there, even more now as I get older. I spend most of my time fishing the bigger rivers from our 18' War Eagle Jetsled, and tossing spinners for salmon and steelhead. I enjoy making my own in-line spinners, and there is nothing like the feeling of a head shake when a fish slams a homemade lure!

My love for the outdoors was passed on to me by my father, and I try to pass the same on to my wife, kids, and anyone that loves the outdoors.

I believe that its not about the quantity of fish you catch, it about the quality of time you spent doing what you love.
