Unit works great on my Old Town. Use it with the 6lb anchor in rivers and lakes.

I purchased the low profile kayak anchor wizard for my Feelfree Dorado in 2021. I sold that kayak in 2024 and immediately purchased another for my new kayak. Fishing inshore and in the marshes like I do this makes anchoring so much easier. And if you use an anchor trolley from YakAttack it doesn't matter where you deploy the anchor (back or front) you can position your kayak like you need to fish.

Great product and works well as described. As the title states, I bought a total of (3) because the first one worked so well. No regrets.

I own a 3 waters big fish 120 kayak. The kayak is awesome and super stable in all weather conditions. The only issue I ever had with it was how much the wind would blow it around. With it being 12' long and about a foot out of the water it catches a lot of wind. OKC Kayak told me about the anchor wizard. I figured I'd try it out and if it didn't work then I was out a $125.
I first had it rigged up to where the anchor would drop from the back of my kayak and come back up into the chute. After a few trips I realized that wasn't the right setup for my kayak, especially after I installed my trolling motor. I reached back out to OKC Kayak and they told me about using a anchor trolley as well. I installed the anchor trolley and mounted the low profile unit to my track and completed ditched the chute it came with.
I can now position my kayak at any angle while the anchor holds it from moving. That is what the anchor trolley allows you to do and yes it works wonders as well. I did upgrade to a 5 pound claw anchor over the 3 pound anchor. I absolutely love this system and it has made my time on the water much more enjoyable over the past year.
Here in Oklahoma we get wind, and in April the wind typically blows between 20-40mph. You have to have a good anchoring system. I have told everyone that I've run across that has a kayak that it is a must have add on. Thanks again for the awesome product and amazing customer service that your company provides.

If I could give this product more stars I would, I absolutely love the low profile anchor wizard! I use the wizard with 6Lb. anchor to hold my Titan 13.5 kayak in place while I fish. It was super easy to instal and holds my yak still allowing me to make multiple cast to one spot instead of getting pushed around by the wind and wakes.

I received my Anchor Wizard last week and it's great. Took about 5 minutes to install on my SlayerMax and could not be happier with the way it works.

While the Anchor Wizard is a great functional product, priced well there can be installation issues that can be solved by a DIYer or a shop if you have it professionally installed. Specifically, the mounting plate for the anchor shoot that is to match up with brass inserts to screw it to a kayak had to be cut to get the holes in it to center over the factory installed inserts that are not even. Cutting slots into the mounting plate may be the answer to the user can move the plate around until the inserts are directly available to screw it to the kayak. As is there is no way it will attach. One screw will fit, then the other three hole must be cut to get them to allow the provided screws to enter the inserts. Screws were too long for the AP 120 kayak. I found screws 1/2 the length of those provided that worked. It may be a good idea to use them just a bit longer than what I used, along with a washer and lock washer. Just tested Anchor Wizard yesterday mounted on kayak. It worked just as it is supposed to. It is a must for long distance kayaking for safety and convenience.

As someone a little older this retrieval system has been a God send. I was a little hesitant at first due to cost but in the end I broke down...and glad I did.
The only problem I have experienced so far is the reentry of the anchor into the chute. I do not think this is a design flaw as there are so many different anchors on the market. The 3lb grapnel style anchor I use has the line zip tied to the top but attached at the bottom so as to break free if snagged. This caused an alignment problem at the top to enter the chute. It would get hung up on the chute lip. I would go up and down several times before I hit it just right to get it back into the chute. I solved this problem with a 25 cent, very small plastic funnel you can pick up almost anywhere.I had to trim it down a little to get it to fit the chute but it took care of the problem and has never hung up since. Anchor wizard might consider this as an option. I can tell you it works great. Very happy and highly recommended especially for older guys in Kayaks.
